do you remember in middle school when you made that entire computer from parts, glued them all onto a piece of wood, brought it to school, and explained how it worked to ms kimmel and she gave you a 93? that was hilarious. i was impressed.

That’s up from the $5,000 he was originally indicted for back in January.
Since I’ve come home I’ve been using this old Dell QuietKey keyboard from about 1998. It’s a lot heavier than the keyboard I’m used to AND it’s got old school clicky keys! It’s so much more responsive and the weight of it makes it harder to slide around my desk. The tactile response is a lit stiffer. I might keep it when I move into Strat’s place. I <3 my Dell QuietKey. I think it came from Ali. Thank you Ali for your junk!

Gimpy has a new sibling. Say hello to as-of-yet-unnamed toy #2: a dual processor G4 tower.

It’s most likely this model: Power Macintosh G4 (Gigabit Ethernet)

Hey, look at this! It says “Train for jobs in beeyotch.”
Smarter teen:

craigslist is wack. some of the posts on there amaze me. and why does everyone and their mother need a website? If I was half as good at web design as I am at putting together backends I’d be raking in money on bullshit projects. I think this summer I should learn.
reading the computer gigs section makes me lose faith in humanity…
I need a new bike. One that I want to ride, that isn’t broken, and is on the fast side. After some research I decided I wanted what’s being called a Commute Bike. It’s basically a road-like hybrid with extras like a chainguard, internal wiring, fenders, a rack, a kickstand, etc. all standard. I’d prefer low-rise flat or drop handlebars, an aluminum frame, between 30-38c slick tires, and that Shimano Nexus hub looks pretty cool too but its not a big deal.
My decisions are largely based on the following two pages:
Commuter Bicycle
Commute Bikes in the U.S.
Commuting/Touring Bike
In no particular order, here are the bikes I’m looking at:
- Trek T80
~$600
Aluminum frame, 700×35c wheels, 8 speed, chainguard, Rack, lights, generator, fenders, kickstand, bell, lock, pump, raised and flat handlebars. - Marin Novato
~$550
27 speeds, Aluminum Frame, low and flat handlebars, 26″x1.4″ kevlar sealed tires, nice fast bike - Specialized Globe
~$750
This one comes highly reccomended. Aluminum frame, 24 speed, rear rack, fenders, head and tail lights, integrated lock, kickstand, 700×28c double walled tires - Giant FCR4
~$440
A more than decent road bike at a relatively low cost. This option is looking particularly attractive to me right now. - Giant Crypress
~$300
My low cost backup. A fairly standard, decent comfort/road bike. Of course, I’d need to buy most of the extras myself. - Raleigh C200
~$470
A decent road-like comfort bike with disc brakes. I kind of like the handlebars on the C500 better… - Breezer Citizen
~$500
Currently, the lowest cost commute bike I can buy new. - Bianchi Milano
~$600
I saw this at a bike shop today and really liked it. The light green they had it in was atrocious but thankfully it comes in black or silver for an extra $30. Nexus hub. Hot bike. - Breezer Greenway
~$600
A touring bike. New addition to the list. I like it. err… that bike has a steel frame and it’s 30 lbs.
My other options are trolling Craigslist or working at Time’s Up on Tuesday nights fixing bikes. Craigslist is hard because not only do I need to find a bike I like, but I need to find one my size. At Time’s Up, the deal is that the 3rd bike you fix is yours to keep.
